Sarah Millicent ''Millie'' Jackson, 83, of Jones Creek, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Sarah was born on December 11, 1940 in Freeport, Texas to Tresmer and Corinne Medlock. She met the love of her life Robert ''Bob'' Jackson after graduating high school and they got married in 1959. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1964 and began her career teaching special education in 1964 at Columbia-Brazoria ISD, and then moved to Brazosport ISD in 1966, and then to Angleton ISD in 1986 and retired in 2002. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa since the 1970's. Her love for teaching led her to continue providing education for Angleton ISD homebound students until 2018. She was also a teacher and tutor for GED at Brazosport College for 15 years. She was already raising a son and a daughter and then In 1975 her and her husband made the selfless decision to take in four more children who became family. She had a love for reading, sewing, baking, and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Anita Mitchell (Wesley), grandchildren Sarah Martinez (Ricky), Candice Sanderson (Kade), David Mitchell (Morgan), great grandchildren Brayden Sanderson (Brooklynn), Kelis Martinez (Preston), Kalea Martinez, Lane Sanderson, Keely Martinez, Aubrey Mitchell, and Briggs Mitchell, and soon to arrive great great granddaughter Saylor Sanderson. Grandchildren Christina Jackson, Savannah Jackson (Michael), great grandchildren Nevaeh, Maleni, and Thomas Moreno, honorary grandchildren Jett Wood and Fabi Amaro. Son Wayne Utley (Kerry), grandchildren Tera Woods (Justin), Matthew Utley (Robbie), Mark Utley (Naomi), great grandchildren Jack Utley, Anna Woods, Carter Utley, Pepper Utley, Judah Woods, Josie Woods, Levi Woods. Daughter Becka Ryder (Drew), grandchildren Brianna Doucet, Josh Edwards, Chris Ryder, great grandchild Doug Doucet. Daughter Berry Falks (Ed). Son Donny Utley (Cari), grandchildren Kaylee Manning (Cole), Samantha Utley. Daughter Claudia Gunther (Mark), grandchildren Valerie Scott (Curtis), Daniel Crowe, Deborah Rickard (Brad), Angela Allen (Katherine), Tyler Gunther (Denise), great grandchildren Ashlyn Baker-Schnelle (Brett), Destin Wells (Trevor), Joel Rickard (Natalie), Davin Allen, Patrisha Carr (Hunter), Sarah Crowe, Luke Gunther, Isabella Gunther, Aurora Gunther, great great grandchildren Noah Baker-Schnelle, Sophia Carr, River Baker-Schnelle, Drew Baker-Schnelle, Knight Wells, Elizabeth Carr. Brothers Matt Medlock (Evelyn) and family, Neal Medlock (Mary Jean) and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Robert Jackson, son Thomas (Clay) Jackson, great grandson John William Woods.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Mitchell, Kade Sanderson, Ricky Martinez, David Mitchell, Brayden Sanderson, and Lane Sanderson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Lakewood Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home. Graveside service for family immediately following.
