Helen Marie Morris Davis departed this world peacefully on July 14, 2017, at home surrounded by family after a brief illness. Helen was born in Freeport, Texas to Charlie Curtis Morris and Elizabeth Leona McMurrough Morris on December 2, 1945. She grew up in Velasco/Freeport area and married Walter Leo Davis on September 8, 1963, and were happily married for 53 years. They built a fine home on the San Bernard River in Shady Acres and hosted many family reunions, 4th of July events, and Christmas gatherings. She loved everybody, especially her family, and her home was opened to everyone. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Curtis and Elizabeth Leona and her brother, Charlie Franklin Morris. She is survived by her loving husband, Leo Davis; two daughters, Connie Leigh Penney of Fort Worth, Vickie Annette Donner (Buck) of Sweeny. Grandchildren; Tiffaney Candice DeAmicis (Tony) of Watauga, Brandon Robert Penney (Melyssa) of Fort Worth, Ashley Nicole Beard (Jason) of Sweeny, Brittaney Crystal Penney of Houston, Philip Michael Penney of The Woodlands, Breanna Ceara Donner, and Caitlin Shea Donner of Sweeny. Great-grandchildren; Ilandrin Delaney Puente, Matthew Connor Puente, Elexis Nevaeh Shahan, Lilyanna Alexandria Puente, Aurora Lynn DeAmicis, Jason Taylor Beard, Elizabeth "Ellie" Marie DeAmicis, and McKenna Fae Beard. Brothers; Joe A. Morris (Dorothy) of Lake Jackson, Thomas E. Morris (Ethel) of Lake Jackson, and Mike D. Morris (Patsy) of Springtown. Brother-In-Law; J.L. Davis (Carla) of Shady Acres, Sister-in-law; Dorothy Morris of Fort Worth, Uncle; Bo McMurrough of College Station. Aunts; Patsy McMurrough Martin of Nacogdoches, Winona Junco of Pearland, Barbara Dinning of Alvin, and Melba Norton of Van Vleck. Helen also had numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins who will miss her loving smile, infectious laugh, and hospitality. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm at Lakewood Chapel. Services will be 1pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at the Brazoria Cemetery.
