Hammett Hardy South

Hammett Hardy South, went to heaven on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. He was born March 2, 1925. Hammett served in WWII and Korean W ar. He retired from Dow in 1981 and worked as a security guard at Bar X R anch and Brazosport College. He loved fishing with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by wife, Anna Ziegler South; and wife, Bernice Violet South; parents, Leatrice and Ned South; daughter, Lierra Sue South Parker; and brother, George South.

Left to cherish memories are son, Mike and wife, Kay; brothers, Thomas, Robert and Sam; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Lakewood Funeral Home with Ernie Hutchins officiating.
