Dr. Ricardo Alberto García, 70, passed away on December 27, 2016, in Lake Jackson, Texas. Ricardo was born in Brownsville, Texas , on January 31, 1946. He is survived by one brother, Bartolomé García; sisters-in-law, Amelia García and Mary Irene García; nieces, Cristina (García) Bacica, Alicia (García) Lowry, Diana (García) Christman and Angela García; nephews, Charles García, Dr. Marco García, and Eric García; four grandnephews and four grandnieces. I worked with Ric at Clemson University when I was a student. We developed and maintained our friendship over the years, and he was a wonderful man. He was a mentor to many of us, and he was always willing to give his time and listen. He will be missed.

Dr. Garcia was a senior colleague of mine at Clemson University. We all depended on his computer expertise and his willingness to help with any computer-related problem. He was a good colleague who will be missed. Rest in peace, Ric.
