On February 5, 2017 the Heavenly Gates opened wide, letting in the WW II Purple Heart Veteran, Willie "Bill" Kubala, 97, who passed away at his residence. After serving his duty in WWII, he then became a caretaker for the late Dr. A.P. and Belle B. Beutel. Later in time he became a co-worker with Dow contractors, working the same land, which was his home place and residence with his late wife, Theresa Kubala. Bill was a great domino player, and loved his Czech dances. Bill and late wife Theresa had two daughters, Pat Harris and Kathy Gatlin; husband Gary. He then was blessed with four grandchildren, Karmen Hice; husband Jeff, of Maryland; Amanda Thompson Stephen of Danbury, TX; Ryan Gatlin; wife Jisele, of Spring,TX; Preston Harris; wife April of Brazoria, TX. Bill also had eight great-grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is survived by his sister Cecilia Henry and family of Mississippi. Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and late wife Thersea. Pallbearers for Bill will be Ryan Gatlin, Preston Harris, James Kubala and Tyler Kubala. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm with a 5:30 Rosary, Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am Friday, February, 10th, 2017 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church of Clute, TX with Father Jim officiating. Interment will be at the Restwood Cemetery; Clute, Texas. The family wants to give a Big Thank You to IPH Hospice nurses that helped their beloved father and grandfather in the remaining time of his fulfilled life. Bill and Teresa were lifelong members of Saint Michaels Catholic Church.

Bill what a kind man he was. He used to come into Jerry's Food King to shop where I was a courtesy clerk. He reminded me so much of my daddy I guess that is why I always treated him so kind. He was such a blessing to me. U r finally home with The Lord Bill I will c u again my friend. Rest in peace God's speed. I will carry u in my heart forever my friend.
