Funeral services for John Virgil Jack Jr,. age 76, of Lake Jackson, TX will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lynne Settlemyre officiating. Internment will be held at Restwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Born to John Virgil Jack and Stella Marguerite Balfour on October 13, 1940 in Monroe, Louisiana. John graduated from Bolton High School in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1958. He attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1962 and received his Masters of Engineering from Texas A&M in 1968. John went to work for Dow Chemical Company in 1962, retiring in December of 2007 after 45 plus years working in hydrocarbons. He worked in the Freeport, TX Division, Terenuezen, Netherlands; Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada; Haarlem, Netherlands; and Bahia Blanca, Argentina. In 1965 John married Patsy Joyce Waller of Freeport. John and Patsy were blessed with two children and called Lake Jackson their home until his death on February 12, 2017. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Waller Jack, his two children son Chris Jack and wife Tonya, and daughter, Traci Nielsen and husband Brian Nielsen, his four grandchildren Ryan, Travis, and Kylee Jack, and Cadence Nielsen, brother Charles Jack, sister-in-law Betty Jack and nephews Randy and Lee Jack. Pallbearers will be: Ryan, Travis, Randy, and Lee Jack, Brian Nielsen, and Scott Blair. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roger Coday, Bobby Weaver, Max Jennings, Norman Tetlow, Bruce Neumann and Nick Roeder.

I am truly sorry for your loss. What little time I spent with Mr. Jack that early morning he really brightened up my night/morning for that short time. I will keep you and your sweet family in my thoughts and prayers.
