Sharon "Kay" Lemons, 74, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away April 11, 2014 at the home of her daughter and son in-law, Talonna and Timothy Duplantis. She was born September 5, 1936 in Abilene, Kansas. She was baptized at Evangelical Reformed Church in Hollyrood, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Harold Greenwood.

She is survived by her two daughters, Talonna Duplantis and husband, Timothy and Linda Palacio; three grandchildren, Bryce Leanardo and wife, Haleigh Sims and husband, Kenneth and Anthony Palacio; three great grandchildren, Aiden and Elliana Leanardo, Matthew Sims with a brother or sister on the way; sister, Barbara (Bobbi) Shelby and husband, Raymond; niece, Bobbi Allen; two great nieces, Amanda Brown, Jennifer Great and husband, Del; two great-great nephews, Aaron and Jace Grear.

Kay was affiliated with Tupperware for over 15 years. She started a local chapter of TOPS in Nebraska. She was a Team Leadger for Marriott Reservations for many years. She followed by opening one of the first retirement communities in Omaha. Upon her move to Texas she was Supervisor of two call centers, where she achieved exemplary leadership in customer service and teamwork. She was one of the first residents of Lake Jackson Manor, where she welcomed everyone, cooked and cared for many. She also started a local Red Hats Group.

She will be loved and missed by everyone!

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Oyster Creek United Methodist Church, 2722 FM 523, Oyster Creek. There will be a gathering for family and friends in the fellowship hall after the memorial service.
