Richard Carlton Dunn

of Brazoria, TX

September 10, 1938 - July 5, 2014

  • Guestbook
Richard (Dick/Dickie) Dunn, 75, of Brazoria was called to his heavenly home on Saturday July 5, 2014 after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born in Roxton, Texas on Sept. 10, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Loreda Dunn, infant brother Johnnie and sister, Shirley Cole.

He is survived by the "Love of his life" for the past 56 years, Pat Dunn of Brazoria, daughter Lisa and husband Tim Rio of Richwood, son Chris and wife Sherry Dunn, grandchildren Cody and Haley Dunn of Lake Jackson, sisters Mary and husband Marshall Penn and Pam Ellis of Houston, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He loved his family with all of his heart. Always glad to see them or hear from them.

For many years Dickie served the community as a plumbing contractor with his own business. During these years he made many lifetime friends and was always proud of the houses and businesses he helped build.

After retiring from plumbing, he spent his time enjoying his family, golfing and cooking for anyone that he could feed including his golfing buddies, whom he truly considered his extended family.

He never met a stranger and always had a way of making you laugh. He had a special way of making new friends out of everyone he met.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 at 2:00pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson with Greg Pickering and Mark Monical officiating.

I'm sure he's singing the Lord's Prayer for our other family members in Heaven. Always loved to hear him sing it. He was the best!

Pat, Lisa, Chris and Family,

Marcy and I are truly sorry for your loss. We enjoyed the time we did have and will always remember him. Losing Mr. Dunn has hurt everyone who knew him, and we know there are no true words of comfort we could say to fill the void. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
