Martha Sue will always hold a special place in my heart. I started my teaching career at O.A. Fleming. I have so many memories of Martha Sue from those years—her sense of humor, words of wisdom (about teaching), joy for living, patience while teaching me a new crafting skill, and her love for her family.

My condolences to JP, Karen, Casie and Cody during this time.

Martha Sue holds a very dear place in my heart. She was so good to my family and I felt, to me in particular. During my Sophomore year in high school, every Thursday night during football season, she met me in her workshop and helped me create incredible gifts for my Brazosport Exporter "Secret Pal" (wooden plaques, jointed puppets, etc...truly exceptional).

I also have a no. of her handmade ornaments that I treasure placing on our Christmas tree each year.

JP, you were truly blessed with wonderful parents, and so were the Normans blessed to have your family as neighbors.

J.P. And family, our deepest sympathy at the passing of your Mom. She was so well loved and always a bright spot in many lives. I enjoyed crafting with her many years ago and Duane working with your Dad. You were always such a joy to them!

I may not remember all the words that was spoken and lessons that was taught to me some 30 years ago but I remember the empact Mrs. Westbrook made in my life. She was my 2nd grade teacher at OA Fleming and she was an inspiration to me and that is one of the main reasons I'm in education today. Thank you so much for the lifelong impact you made. Teachers have a special place in HEAVEN.

Mrs Westbrook was not only an amazing teacher but she was a precious lady. Although she was my 1st grade teacher she still remembered me and spoke to me each time I saw her all through the years later. After 55 years she still stood out in my mind as a person who made a large footprint on my life. God rest her soul and many prayers and comfort to her family.
