I am a far better person for knowing this Guy, working for/with him a number of years. I am also fortunate I had a chance to spend some time with Him and Sharon at the Old Timers Re-union on the 9th. It was always a pleasure to see him at theses re-unions as well as The Grand Lodge annual communication in Waco. He will surely leave a big gap in his community. I can imagine it now, BIG JAKES booming voice to the angels, " YA'LL GET PAIRED UP OVER HERE AND CATCH IN ON THE LEAD ANGEL " May the family find peace and consolation in the word of GOD! RIP Big Jake.

God of all comfort, please be near Sharon today. Let your strong presence be felt now and in the coming days. The grief of losing her loving Husband, Gene, is so heavy on my heart and mind.
I pray that you would come and comfort Sharon, along with the Reynolds & Jorgenson Families during this time of loss. My family has been friends with Sharon; her brother, Danny, and his wife, Sandie; since 1966. It pained me to hear of Geneís sudden passing. I first heard of Geneís passing when Sandie, called to let me know the sad news. Gene was just one of those guys that I liked right away. They had started dating, and walked through the doorway, (which he filled), and I shook his hand. Now I am a big guy, and I thought I had big hands, (size XXXL gloves), but Geneís hand swallowed mine, like a first basemanís glove. I will never forget that handshake, and Iím sure all his friends remember.
Please Lord, embrace Sharon, & family, O God, and speak words of assurance and comfort by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

My heart is broken for Sharon and all the family. Gene was an absolutely great guy you could always depend on.

He attended the County Treasurers meetings with Sharon and he became one of us. A bear hug from Gene was what I expected and cherished.

Your days are over, but your memory will last in our hearts forever!

One of the greatest joy I got at church on Sunday's was hearing Gene worship with that rich wonderful voice and strong handshake. I did not know Gene personally or for very long, but the times I was around him it was evident he was a very, very special man.

May God's peace be with you all, especially Sharon, in the days ahead.

My deepest condolences to Gene's family. He was such a wonderful man with a great sense of humor. I had the pleasure working with Gene while we both worked at the Probation Dept. There we several times I had to work late teaching DWI Education classes while Gene worked as security during these classes. At that time I had 4 little ones. Since finding a sitter for 4 kids was difficult I usually had to take them with me and have them sit and watch a movie while I taught classes. Gene would sit with my kids (to make sure they were behaving) and watch the movie along with them. He was such a wonderful man and good friend. Rest easy my friend. We'll see you on the other side.

Sharon and family, My deepest and most sincere sympathy for the loss of Gene. I was so blessed to have had one more visit with him at the Old Timer's Reunion and glean some more wisdom. He will be missed. May God's perfect love and peace envelop you and your entire family during this time of grief.

My heart goes out to Sharon and their family. I remember Gene coming to the Treasurers' conferences with Sharon and how much we all loved him. He was a big teddy bear of a guy and I always loved to see Gene and Sharon cutting a rug on the dance floor. He played a mean game of 42 as well!
