My father Willie James Wilson is Mary Nita’s first cousin. She and my mother Wynona were pregnant at the same time in the very hot summer of 1953 in Beaumont Tx . Each had a firstborn son in the fall. Milton , Mary Nita , and their three children were travelers and I always anticipated their visits to Beaumont. In recent years it has been a pleasure talking to Mary Nita and my cousins about our shared history.Mary Nita was always gracious in helping me fill in details regarding Ancestry. I will miss her greatly especially her never failing to end our conversations with “ Love You “. Phillip,Ginger, and Clifton words cannot express the sadness of her loss. Be assured of my love and sympathy. Your cousin, Walter James Wilson II

I'm SSOO sorry to hear of Mary Nita's passing....
SO many memories flooding through my head!!!
She was at Ashley Travis' wedding where I played music. I played a Fats Dominoe song, "Blueberry Hill", I think, and she got emotional. She told me It reminded her of the first trip Milton and she took to New Orleans and they saw Fats perform. Later, I played another Fats Dominoe song and I made sure I danced with her for that one. Every time I hear a Fats Dominoe song, I think of Mary Nita...
Needless to say, that sweet lady will be missed.... Friday, April 29, 2022 |
