Dr. Lina T. Bautista
2/13/1936 - 9/20/2021

Dr. Lina T. Bautista, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, left this life to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on the 20th day of September 2021, in Richwood, Texas. She was born on February 13, 1936, to Dr. Fausto Tapiador and Esperanza Tapiador in Manila, Philippines.

Lina graduated from medical school from the University of Santo Tomas in 1960. In 1968, she and her husband, Rodrigo O. Bautista, immigrated to the United States where she received additional training and her license to practice medicine in Detroit, MI. During this time, she also became a US Citizen, which she often said was one of the proudest moments of her life. She and Rodrigo, along with their daughter, Maria, moved to Lake Jackson, TX in 1976 where she practiced medicine for over 30 years. She was also a Captain in the United States Airforce where she served as a physician. She was an amazing doctor who truly loved and cared for her patients!

Lina will always be remembered for her unwavering faith in the Lord, and her abundant kindness and generosity. She had an infectious gift of hospitality that she readily shared with those around her, blessing family, friends, and even complete strangers with her delicious cooking and love for music. She had a unique way of making every holiday, birthday, and special occasion memorable! EVERYONE was always welcomed in her home!

She will be lovingly remembered by Rodrigo, her husband of 55 years; her daughter, Maria, and son-in-law, Noel Jerke; her grandchildren: Gabby, Grayson, Graci, and Gage; brother Dr. Ricardo Tapiador and her sister-in-law Milagros Tapiador; and her sister-in-law Teresita Tapiador; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Dr. Fausto Tapiador and Esperanza Tapiador and her brothers Anselmo, Fausto Jr., Melchor, and Lutgardo Tapiador.

A funeral mass will be held for Lina on Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, at 10:00 AM, 201 North Lazy Lane Clute, TX 77531. Reverend James F. Lynes will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jerome's Catholic Church.
