Roland Eugene Reynolds, known as Gene, of Jones Creek, TX passed away unexpectedly Sunday October 10, 2021 at the age of 74. Gene was born on October 9, 1947 in Conroe, TX.
He is survived by his loving & devoted wife of 50 years, Sharon Reynolds; Daughter, Gena Lea Smith & son in law Darve Smith; Son, Brett Reynolds & daughter in law Nicholette Reynolds. Grandchildren, Trevor Smith; Jordan Lea Pena (Dago); Kaleb, Kade, Calvin & Cambrie Reynolds; Great-Granddaughters Nova & Esme Pena. Nephew, Eugene Springfield & Niece, Jennifer Springfield; Brother in Law Danny Joe Jorgenson and wife Sandie; numerous great nieces & nephews, extended family & lifelong friends & his little puppy sugar lump.

Gene was known as a man in the service of his fellow men. He was a man of unshakable conviction, integrity & honor. If you ever shook his hand, you would never forget it. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 20 years before retiring & then serving in law enforcement for 26 years before retiring a second time from the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office. Gene was member of the Velasco Masonic Lodge 757 for more than 35 years, where he was worshipful master from 2014-2015. Besides serving his community, one of his biggest accomplishments in his life were his children & his grandchildren. He was very involved in his grandchildren's sporting events, activities, & education. He was the patriarch of the family, an incredible role model, a loving husband, father & grandfather. His bigger than life personality, his voice & stories will be forever in our hearts. He will be truly missed.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Weldon Lee Reynolds; Mother, Madolyn Nell Reynolds (Sims) & Sister, Margaret Elaine Springfield.

Viewing will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church in Lake Jackson, TX on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 9:30am-11am

Gene's celebration of life will follow after the viewing at 11am at the Christ Lutheran Church. There will be a graveside service at 2:30pm following the service at the Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Tx.
