Funeral Services for Carrie Louise Huisman, age 93, of Clute, Texas. The family will receive visitors at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 4 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, services will follow at 12:30 pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terrance Adamson officiating, Graveside will be held at Brazoria Cemetery, Brazoria, Texas.
Louise passed peacefully at home of natural causes, May 19, 2025 with Carolyn, Tommy, Rowdy (her loyal dog) and Granddogs beside her. Louise was a proud loving mother. Wife. Friend, and avid gardener, dog owner, baker, homemaker and available 24/7 by phone or visits to whoever needed her wisdom or infinite memory.
Her gracious smile and wide brim sun hats will be forever treasured by her children, Thomas Huisman, Clute; Carolyn and Harley Cox, Mexia, Texas, Grandson Scott and Tanya Huisman, South Bend, Indiana, Great Grand Children, Arcane, Bowen, Kai Huisman, Great-great granddaughter, Katherine Huisman. Step grandson, Jacob and Stacey Cox, Pearland, Texas Samuel and Vanessa Cox, League City, Texas, and step great grandsons Bradley and Ryan Cox, Jackson and Conner Cox. Louise has cousins, nieces and nephews across the United States that will also miss her great laugh, wisdom and sharp memory.
Louise was preceded in Death by her loving husband of 68 years, Gene Huisman, son Terry Huisman, mother and step father, Nellie Waltz and Charlie Christian, Father, Emmett Lister, baby brother Emmett Lister, and Sister, Sue Lister Ortega.
Pall Bearers will be: Dean Spillers, Truman Groom, Mike Chilcote, Tommy Barnett, Andrew Adcock. Juan Castellanos, Jacob Cox.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Hibbard Cox, Chuck Radney, Steve Radney, John LaFleur, Mick Hamar, Ron Svasek, Rick Greene, Mark Greene, Ray Elliott, Long Tan Nguyen, Phil Wolber, Leigh Ann Estes and Jay Acker Culberson.
