Larry Nathaniel LeCompte Sr. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully surround by his family and dear friends on June 13,2025 at the age of eighty-two in Jones Creek Texas. Born in Freeport Texas on October 8,1942, he was known for his love of family, camping, fishing, boating and dirt track racing. Most evenings he was sitting with his neighbors under the big tree with a fire in the fire ring. Larry worked 50+ years in the Chemical Industry as a Supervisor and Turnaround Planner as well as being a Tugboat Captain in his early years.
A person could find Larry at Hopper field on Friday nights on the 17th row 40-yard line where he sat with his family and friends cheering on the Brazosport Exporters.
Larry was full of pride in our nation's military where the family represents all branches, he recently had the privilege of visiting Arlington Cemetery of which he was so proud.
To live on Larry's legacy is his daughter Patricia Williams of Jones Creek, TX; son Larry Jr of Missouri; son Jerry and his wife Cheryl of Tarkington, TX and daughter in law April of League City, TX. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Larry was proceeded in death by his wife Barbara of 65 years. His parents Joseph LeCompte and Mother Vivian Belk, Son Gary LeCompte; son in law JR Williams and his special angel granddaughter Danielle Marie LeCompte. Many other family and friends were there to greet him.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with services to follow at Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Sunday June22,2025 at 1:30 P.M and there will be an internment to follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek.
Honorary Pallbearers are Walt Palmer and Chris Davis, Pallbearers Edward Bryd, Jerry LeCompte Jr., Richard LeCompte, Kenny LeCompte, Kerry LeCompte, Gary LeCompte Jr., James Vick, and Christian LeCompte.
Grandson Eric Coleman will officiate.
Larry request everyone to wear his favorite color blue to his services.
