On Monday, June 16, 2025, Wyvaun Ameta Prough Stransky a resident of Lake Jackson, Texas, went to be with the lord at the age of 91.

Born on July 27, 1933, in Edinburg, Texas, Wyvaun (Von) was the third of five children born to Tomas and Velda Prough. She graduated from Edinburg High School and went on to attend Cosmetology School. After completing her education, she married the love of her life, Robert Stransky, in 1952. Shortly after their wedding, Von began a rewarding career as an International Translator for Southwestern Bell.

Von and Robert made their home in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they welcomed their two daughters in 1954 and 1957. During this time, they also opened a successful restaurant, building a life rooted in hard work and family.

Later, Robert's job brought the family to Oyster Creek, Texas, where they raised their daughters and became deeply involved in the local community. Together, they launched several businesses, including Stransky's Flower Shop and Twin Palms Mobile Home Park. In 2002, Von and Robert celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.

A woman of strong faith, Von spent many years serving the Lord. She was an active member of Oyster Creek Baptist Church, where she loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. After Robert's passing, she moved to Lake Jackson and joined Brazosport Baptist Church, continuing her devotion to her faith.

Von had a true passion for painting and gardening, expressing her creativity through beautiful floral arrangements and artwork. She also loved cooking for her community and found great joy in helping others whenever she could. Known for her strength and determination, she faced life's challenges head-on and never shied away from hard work. Whether she was managing a business, caring for her family, or helping a friend in need, Von gave her all with unwavering dedication. She left a lasting impression on everyone that had the privilege of knowing her.

Von was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charles Stransky; her parents, Tomas and Velda (Patterson) Prough; Father-In-Law, Charlie Stansky; Mother-In-Law, Vivian (Hyde) Stransky; Brother, Orville Clifford Prough; Sisters, Armista Doris Prough, Wanda Jene (Prough) Stephens and Betsy Ann (Prough) Moody; and her Son-In-Law, Otis Sparkman.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Sparkman of Lake Jackson and Debra Blackmon of Light House Point, Florida; Son-In-Law, Wayne Blackmon; Grandchildren, Jennifer Sparkman, Justin and Blake Pyka; Great Grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Austin and Hunter Pyka; and an abundance of friends.

A private family viewing will be held at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Immediately followed by a graveside service.
