        7/24/1958 - 9/15/2025

Mark Edward White, 67 of Clute, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on the afternoon of September 15, 2025. Mark was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, to Edgar and Lois White on July 24, 1958. As a young man, Mark served as a nuclear weapons specialist in the United States Air Force at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, Louisiana. While serving there, he met Sherrill, his best friend and wife of 44 years.
After his military service, Mark and Sherrill moved to Angleton, Texas. There, Mark worked as a welder's helper until 1984. He then began his 39-year career as a social coach/trainer at Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas. Mark was a master woodworker who loved to serve people in the community with his carpentry skills. He often repaired homes for those who could not afford to maintain or repair issues while part of the Men's Ministry at Willow Drive Baptist Church. He spent hours in his shop and loved to team up with Sherrill on projects around their home.
According to family and friends, Mark was a loyal, honest man with a true servant's heart. His life this side of heaven was dedicated to his Savior Jesus, his family, his church, and his community. He was a steady source of stability and security for his family. Mark was loving, patient, supportive, wise, gentle, and caring. Mark had a passion for God more than anything else. He was firm in his faith and believed in others when they did not believe in themselves. If you spoke with him for a few minutes, the conversation turned to faith and life. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Edgar White. He is survived by his mother Lois White, siblings Edgar, Jr, Lois Jenkins, Hank White, (Christina), and Tony White, (Alice), all of New York. Along with numerous Cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mark is also survived by his wife, Sherrill, his son Travis White (Amy), son William White. His grandchildren are Colin White, Maya White, Eli White, Abby White, Noah Lunsford, Eden Morgan, and Suzanna Diaz.
If Mark could tell you one last thing, it would be the cornerstone of his life's legacy: to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas Saturday, September 20, at 10:30 a.m.
In place of flowers, donations to the Pregnancy Help Center are encouraged.
