Lydia Martinez, 74, of Freeport, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026.

Lydia was born in Weslaco, Texas, to Lorenzo and Juanita Martinez. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family and those she loved. Her love, strength, and steady presence shaped generations and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Martinez, her brother, Carlos Martinez, and her former husband Artemio Perez.

Lydia is survived by her loving children, Marcos (Melissa) Martinez, Abigail (Jammin) Woodard, and Oscar (Graciela) Perez; her beloved grandchildren, Mikaela, Makenzie, Mischa, Janiyha, Jamarcos, Aracelli, Julian, Juliza, Omar, and Olivia; and her great-grandson, Nathan. She is also survived by her mother, Juanita Martinez and siblings, Joel Martinez, Maria Teresa Hernandez, Juanita Nanez, Blanca Bustos, and Audrey Martinez along with many nieces and nephews.

Lydia will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she held so close to her heart.
