Kevin Don Ward, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on March 11, 2026 in Sweeny, Texas surrounded by family. Born in Freeport on October 24, 1955, Kevin was a character cut from a different cloth. In his day, he loved to dance, drink, and have a good time. Many a night he could be found leaned on the corner bar at The Armadillo Ballroom. He was a lover and bragged he had been married six times-twice to the same woman. His extended youthful indiscretions ended and Kevin worked for the city of Angleton for many years retiring in 2017. After retirement, Kevin found his second calling piddling around with lawn mowers, metal art and making decent coin-Cash only. Kevin was a bit of a quiet man with a big heart. He approached life like a challenge and lived it for the long haul.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Bonne Jolene Hendrix of Madisonville. Three Daughters Susan Lewis, Jennifer Martin, Amanda Wasson and husband Roy all of Sweeny. Two Grandsons Reese Wasson of Sweeny and Chandler Wasson of Huntsville. Siblings Mike Ward(Pam) Lynda Zeringue(Bing), Angie Little, Karla Gay DeHart. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of friends who will miss his conspiracy theories and humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Ward, sister Carolyn Wren Hendrix, and Grandmother Kathryn Vandre.

A service and meal to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026 at the Civic Center 514 E Brazos Ave in West Columbia beginning at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you put on Garth Brooks, find the prettiest girl or most handsome guy and have yourself a great time. Relish the moment because you just don't know when the good Lord will call you home.
