With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Bobby Joe Thibodeaux Sr., who departed this world peacefully at home on May 11, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on February 11, 1967, in the close-knit community of Palmetto, Louisiana, Bobby Joe was the beloved son of Jeanie Soileau and the late LG Thibodeaux.

Bobby Joe's early years were spent exploring the bayous and fields of Palmetto, under the nurturing guidance of his parents and grandparents, JT Soileau and Lydia Dupre, who predeceased him. His formative years were marked by a robust sense of curiosity and a knack for storytelling, traits that would become his lifelong hallmarks.

A man of many talents and a heart that knew no bounds, Bobby Joe's professional journey took him behind the wheel of a truck and into the demanding yet rewarding world of the oil fields. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his dedication and perseverance were admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Beyond his career, Bobby Joe was a man who lived for the simple joys of life. He was never one to turn down a fishing trip, often finding solace and joy on the water. His charm and larger-than-life personality made him a beacon of warmth in any gathering, and he was known for captivating audiences with his tales of wild adventures, infused with humor and a characteristic stubborn streak that endeared him to many.

Bobby Joe leaves behind a legacy of love through his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Mary (Janie) Mitchell, and their three sons, Bobby Thibodeaux Jr. and Stephanie, Johnny Thibodeaux, and Robert Thibodeaux and his wife Veronica. His mother, Jeanie Soileau, and siblings, Donald Bonaventure Jr., Lorinda Corley, and Angelique Sylvester, hold his memory close, cherishing the laughter and love he brought to their lives. Bobby Joe was also the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild each a testament to the love and joy he spread throughout his life.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bobby Joe are invited to gather in celebration of a life lived with passion, humor, and an unyielding love for those around him. As we bid farewell to Bobby Joe, let us remember him as a man whose spirit was as unyielding as it was kind, whose stories brought joy and whose life brought light to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of the countless lives he touched, and he will be profoundly missed.
