Thomas Theoville Hanks

Thomas Theoville Hanks, 88, of Lake Jackson passed away on November 21, 2013 at his home. He was born May 18, 1925 in Kaplan Louisiana to Pierre and Marie Guillot Hanks. He joined the navy in 1942 and traveled the world during WWII. Most of that time spent in the South Pacific. Tommy returned from the war and a subsequent tour as a merchant marine to marry fellow "Kaplanite", Wanda Guidry, on February 16, 1949. They moved to Baton Rouge where they had their first child Debbie. In 1951 Tommy and his new wife and child came to the Freeport area in search of work. The Brazosport area became their home where they raised five children.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Wanda, his three sisters; Mary Beaullieu, Anna Lee Marceaux, Brenda Fabre and a son-in-law, Michael T. Davis.

He is survived by his five children and spouses: Debbie Davis, Tina and her husband Robert Cobb, James Hanks and his wife Debbie, Mike Hanks and his wife Tami and Kelly Hanks. He is also survived by fifteen grand children: Thad Davis and his wife Ashley, Aaron Davis and his wife Logan, Mary Neisig and her husband Bryan, Lindsay Valdez and her husband Aaron, Trey Davis and his wife Amber, Gerry Kohler, Christopher Hanks, Kaitlin Hanks, April Hanks, Benjamin Hanks, Emily Hanks, Joshua Hanks, Avery Hanks, Ariana Hanks and Autumn Hanks. In addition, eight great grandchildren: Abby Neisig, Elizabeth Neisig, Ashton Valdez, Nathaniel Neisig, Isabella Valdez, Michael Davis, Josie Davis and John Michael Davis.
Pallbearers for "Papa" are his eight grandsons : Thad Davis, Aaron Davis, Trey Davis, Gerry Kohler, Christopher Hanks, Benjamin Hanks, Joshua Hanks and Aaron Valdez

Visitation will be at 6:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 at St. Michael's Catholic Church at 100 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson Texas. The funeral will be held at the church on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10:00 am.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Michael's St. Vincent de Paul Society.
