Barbara Pennington ''MiMi'' Crook of Freeport, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at The Methodist Hospital Houston at the age of 92. She was born February 26, 1932, in Memphis, Tennessee to Spencer and Mary Pennington.

MiMi always put the Lord first in her life. She was a devoted mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely and took great pride in each of them and their accomplishments. To all who knew her, MiMi will be remembered as a true friend, prayer warrior, and encourager.

Barbara is survived by her son, Roy Crook, III (Deby) and daughter, Elizabeth Anderson (Gerald), five grandchildren Erica Nugent, Bryan Crook (Jennifer), Rachel Perkins (Chris), Elliot Comeaux (Maggi), and Sydney Comeaux, as well as seven great grandchildren Wyatt and Emma Nugent, Evan, Tyler, and Alyssa Crook, and Reid and Grant Perkins.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Crook, Jr., son, Scott Crook, and daughter-in-law, Tonya Crook.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson with a visitation beginning at 11:30 followed by services at 12:00.

Pall bearers will be Bryan Crook, Elliot Comeaux, Gerald Anderson, Larry Peel, Dillon Wood, and Tommy Lewellen.

In lieu of flowers, one may make a donation to Brazoria County Dream Center or St. Jude Hospital.
