Carol Ann McIntire Lockley, 87, of Lake Jackson, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2026.

Carol was born in Harris County, Texas, to Stanley McIntire and Georgia Vesta Garriga McIntire. She grew up in Port Lavaca, Texas, and graduated from high school in May 1957. During her high school years, she was a member of the National Honor Society and Press Club and played in the school band all four years.

Carol continued her education at North Texas State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English in January 1962. In the 1960s, she married Claud Ronald Lockley. They shared many years together until Ron's death in January 2025.

Carol enjoyed reading, photography, and gardening. She also had a special affection for animals, particularly dogs. Her beloved pets, Lulu and Trixie, were an important part of her life and brought her much companionship and joy.

Carol is survived by her two brothers, Lee and Stanley; her seven nephews, Lee, Scott, Cliff, Sean, Clint, Ryan, and Troy; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Ronald Lockley, and her parents, Stanley McIntire and Georgia Vesta Garriga McIntire.

Pallbearers will be Lee McIntire, Sean McIntire, Clint McIntire, Troy McIntire, Scott Hunter McIntire, and Kadin McIntire.

The family extends its sincere appreciation to Carol’s IPH hospice caregivers, Deborah, Crystal, and Talena, for their compassionate care. The family also wishes to thank Jacob, the nurse who helped care for Carol, and offers a very special thank-you to her daily caregivers, April and Yezei, whose devoted care and companionship meant so much to Carol and her family.

Carol’s life was marked by a love of learning, creativity, nature, animals, and family. She is now at rest in the presence of the Lord, reunited with Claud and those who went before her. Her memory will remain a blessing to the many family members and friends whose lives she touched.
