Christopher (Chris) Wayne Smith was born on January 30, 1978 and passed away at work on December 31, 2024 at the young age of 46 years old.

Chris was born to Lois Rollins Haynes and Robert Euell Smith in Houston Texas. Chris attended Brazoswood High School. At 17 years old, he met Teressa Cain, who he later married and had 2 children with, Tyler and Breanna Smith. He worked for Intertek Caleb Brett from 1999-2014 where he created lifelong friendships. When his career ended with Intertek, he became a shutdown chaser, where he worked on multiple crews and again, created lifelong friendships. He battled numerous health issues but never gave in to any of them.

Chris touched many hearts and impacted many, many lives. He would be there in the drop of a hat if he was called upon by any of his friends/family. Aside from his children, his nephew, Jayse, was his favorite person to see walking in the front door. Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles with his lifelong friend, Randy Lanier, and sitting around a campfire listening to music, telling stories.

He was survived by and leaves behind, his Daughter-Breanna, Son-Tyler, adopted Son-Wesley, Mother-Lois, Father-Robert, Brother-James, Nephews-Preston and Jayse, Niece-Serenity, Sister-Lacey, Stepmother-Karen, and several people he not only considered friends, but family.

A Celebration of Life will be held, and details will be communicated when known.

To know Chris, was to know what it felt like to be loved. He will be missed dearly.
