George Perry Townes passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 in Lake Jackson, Texas at the

age of 104.

He was born and raised in Red River County, Texas. Perry married Jean Potts in 1944. Perry

served in the United States Army and was a WWII Veteran and Honorably Discharged in 1945.

He was also Honorably Discharged from the National Guard of Texas in 1946.

Perry and Jean were blessed with two children; Jeannie and Roger. Perry and Jean later moved their

Family to the Brazosport Area where he worked for the Freeport Sulfur Company and retired from

The Dow Chemical Company.

Perry is survived by his two children; Jeannie Sharp and Roger Townes (wife Rhonda)

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Jean Townes
