Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Herman Ardoin

Sunrise: February 19, 1953 – Sunset: October 29, 2026

With hearts filled with love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Herman Ardoin, who began his earthly journey on February 19, 1953, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and reached his sunset on October 29, 2026, at the age of 73. Herman later made his home in Freeport, Texas, where he built a life surrounded by family, love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever.

Herman was a loving, God-fearing man whose life was rooted in his unwavering faith in God. His faith was his foundation, his strength, and a guiding light throughout his journey. He carried God in his heart and shared his love with those fortunate enough to know him. His faith was not simply something he believed in, but a part of who he was.

But if there was one thing Herman knew how to do, it was make people smile. He was a funny, fun-loving man with a contagious smile and a laugh that could brighten even the darkest of days. He had a special way of bringing joy into every room he entered and making people laugh without even trying. His laughter was infectious, his personality unforgettable, and his presence was a blessing to those around him. Those who knew Herman will forever remember his smile, his humor, and the happiness he brought into their lives.

Above all, Herman was a family man whose love will continue to live on through the people he leaves behind. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Victoria Ardoin; his six children, Herman Ardoin Jr., Andre Ardoin, Andrea Ardoin, Macy Willoughby (Jason), Mauricio Samora (Erika), and Mayley Samora; and his 15 beloved grandchildren, who will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Patricia Ardoin, and his brother, Patrick Ardoin, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Herman was preceded in death by his beloved father, Lawrence Ardoin Sr.; his mother, Gladys Ben Ardoin; his sister, Virginia Chenier; his brothers, Lawrence Ardoin Jr. and Lee Ardoin; his nephew, Ronnie Ardoin; and his niece, Monique Chenier.

Herman also leaves behind dear friends and cherished members of his community who held a special place in his heart. His beloved church family at First Methodist, his friends at Hudgeons Estates, and the caring friends and familiar faces at Brazoria County Dialysis were all part of his life's journey. Their friendship, kindness, fellowship, and support meant so much, and they, too, will forever cherish the memories they shared with Herman. He was blessed to have so many wonderful people walk alongside him throughout his journey.

Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in knowing that a life as meaningful as Herman's never truly ends. His love will continue through his children, his grandchildren, and every person whose life he touched. His jokes will be retold, his laughter will be remembered, and his smile will forever be pictured in the hearts of those who loved him.

The sunset of his earthly life does not dim the light he left behind. His journey here may have ended, but his love, his faith, and his legacy will live on through generations.

Loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered for a lifetime.

A Celebration of Herman’s life will be held at 11 am on November 14th at First Methodist Church 1600 W Broad St Freeport Tx 77541.
