Ida Lou Lashlee long time resident of Lake Jackson, Texas departed this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Woodlake Nursing Home at the age of 84. She was born on June 14, 1942 in Arkansas to the late Ed and Pauline (Jones) Smith.
Ida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She found great joy in traveling to Arkansas visiting with extended family and friends.
On September 9, 1960, Ida married the love of her life, Douglas (Doug) Wayne Lashlee. Together, they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love and companionship, until Doug’s passing in 2021.
Ida spent her career working as a head secretary for D & L Painting and Davis AC for many years. She went on to be co-owner of Lashlee Painting and Remodeling.
Ida was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug; her parents; daughter, Paula Sue Lashlee; a great granddaughter, Cheris Foster and her brother, Louis Joe Smith.
Ida is survived by two sons: Thomas (Peanut) Lashlee of Hawkins, Texas; Wayne Lashlee and wife Victoria of Lake Jackson, Texas; and sister, Geraldine Gibson of Cache, Arkansas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly
