Janice Darby Waguespack passed on June 30, 2026 at the age of 92. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 6th, 2026 from 5pm-7pm with rosary at 6:30pm. A funeral service will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at 10:30am with the graveside service to follow at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute.

Janice is survived by her husband Coke (Milton) of 73 years and by her 7 children, Linda Wing, Ronnie Waguespack (Colleen), Donna Olson (Jeff), Moris Waguespack (Debbie), John Waguespack (Cheryl White Waguespack), Larry Waguespack (Mary Waters), and Terry Waguespack (Tammy), son-in-law Steve Grisham (Gayleigh), 17 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Cynthia Waguespack Grisham (daughter) and Benjamin Joseph Waguespack (Grandson).

Janice was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, on February 8, 1934, to parents Eddie and Altha (Mimi) Darby. She moved to Freeport in 1937 and has been a resident of Brazoria County for 89 years.

In her later years, Janice enjoyed being around family, traveling, volunteering at Crystal Crafters, water aerobics, playing cards and dominoes with new and longtime friends.
