Obituary

In Loving Memory of Karen Linscombe Hurst

April 13, 1965 – October 21, 2026

Karen Linscombe Hurst passed away on October 21, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and a lifetime of memories that will forever be treasured.

Karen was a strong-willed woman with a sense of humor and a personality that made her uniquely herself. She loved her children with all her heart, but her grandchildren held an especially precious place in her life. To her grandbabies, she was lovingly known as Nani, a title she carried with so much love and pride. She loved those babies with everything she had, and being their Nani was one of the most special parts of her life.

Karen is survived by her six children: Tosha Hurst and her husband, Gary Martin; Katie Hurst; Michael Hurst and his wife, Charissa Hurst; Kimberly Garcia and her husband, Edward Garcia; Joshua Hurst and his wife, Ashlee Hurst; and Justin Hurst and his wife, Kaitlin Hurst. She also leaves behind her many beloved grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and memories in their hearts.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Hurst; her beloved granddaughter, Kinsley Iris Hurst; and her parents.

She shared her later years with her significant other, Nathan Decker, who stood by her side until the very end. His love, companionship, and unwavering presence were an important part of her life.

Karen's passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her. There is no replacing a mother or a Nani, and the memories made with her will be cherished for generations to come. Her family will carry forward the laughter she brought, the strength she showed, and the unconditional love she had for her children and grandchildren.

Though her time on earth has ended, her story does not end here. It lives on through her six children, her grandchildren, and the generations that will follow. Her family will forever remember her strong spirit, her humor, and the fierce love she had for those who meant the most to her.

Forever our mom. Forever their Nani. Forever loved and never forgotten.

Please join our family as we come together to celebrate and honor the life of our beautiful mom, Karen K. Hurst. We invite everyone who loved her to share memories and spend time with us as we remember her beautiful life.
