Kathryn "Kathy" Maurie Johnson was born on October 26, 1963, in Freeport, Texas. She passed away at her residence, in jones Creek Texas on August 31, 2022. She graduated from Brazosport High School in 1982 and Sam Houston State College with a degree in Education. She was a lifelong resident of Jones Creek. She had a heart of gold and tried to help everyone she could. If you asked Kathy, she would say that her biggest accomplishment was her daughter Darby. She was the light of Kathy's life and the thing she was most proud of.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Larry Wayne Goodbread Sr. and Rebecca "Becky" Goodbread, and her significant other, David Carter.

She is survived by her Daughter, Darby Johnson, Her brother Larry Wayne Goodbread Jr. and Donna Moore, her nieces, Khristin New, Jessica Rollo, Jana Rollo, and Jillian Goodbread, Melissa Moore.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
