Services for Maria Antonieta Chávez, age 82, of Angleton, TX will start with visitation at 10 am, Monday December 23 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, followed at 1 pm by the funeral service with Reverand Luis R. Araica officiating. Interment will follow at the Angleton Cemetery, 328 Cemetery Road Angleton, TX 77515.

María Antonieta Chávez was born in 1942 in Valle Hermoso, Tamps. Mexico, to Rosalio and María Hernández de Osoria. She graduated from high school and then earned her teaching certificate. At 23, she married Margarito Chávez Vasquez and together they had three sons and four daughters.

In 1979, the family relocated to Freeport, TX seeking a better life. She had a deep love for the outdoors, often tending to her flowers and plants. On her children's birthdays, she delighted in playing 'Las Mañanitas' loudly early in the morning. She cherished the moments when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gathered to spend time with her.

Her faith in God was steadfast and she taught her children the value of placing their trust in the Lord.
