Paul Everett Pedisich

February 4, 1940 – August 20, 2026

Funeral services for Paul Everett Pedisich, 86, of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY and a long-time resident of Lake Jackson, will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home Saturday, August 29, 2026 with Melinda Gonzales officiating. His cremains will be placed in the columbarium at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Home at 10:00 am.

Paul E. Pedisich, 86, departed this life peacefully on August 20, 2026 He was born at home in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. A life-long learner he earned his BS from the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) and his Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, New York (Stony Brook, NY). He travelled extensively throughout his 30-year US Naval career. In the Navy Paul was revered for his stellar aviation career and for several senior officer commands. He made a second public career focusing his intellectual passions as a history and humanities professor at Brazosport College, Lake Jackson, TX. In every capacity in his remarkable life of service, he modelled humility and curiosity, positively influencing more of us than can be counted. His work ethic, sardonic humor, joys for earthy outdoor pursuits, and constant generosity are his legacy. His family remembers him as a devoted student of humanity and the natural world. The miracle of his life is active in the spirits of his living family.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Nolan) Pedisich of Medford, NY, his four children, Martha (husband Abbas Zadigan), Sam (wife Erin Sebelius), Dina (husband Ygnasio Lopez), and Kris (partner Donna Morein), his brother John Jr. (Carol Ward). He is also survived by three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche (Ussing) Pedisich, his sister Judith Tomlins, and his brother Andrew.

His entire family is grateful for all the care bestowed by extended family and the wider community, including the staff at Creekside Village.
