Rex Franklin Blackstock, 87, of Lake Jackson, Texas , passed away Monday, June 10, 2019. He was born July 31, 1931 in Lamesa, Texas to Louie Blackstock and Edith Annie Provence Blackstock. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Rex was a Union Millwright.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dempsey Blackstock.

Rex is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ervaline Blackstock of Lake Jackson, Texas; 2 children: Steve Blackstock and wife Becky of Brazoria, Debbie Bo Haney and husband Randy of Porter, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren;sister, Marie Files and husband Don of Lubbock, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6pm until 8pm Thursday at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, June 14, 2019 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Nathan Corrick and Rev. Randall Haney officiating.

Pall Bearers will be: Steve Blackstock, Eric Landuyt, Jeremy Pirtle, Anderson Carter, Kade Bock, Colton Thompson, Emily Landuyt and Dylan Anderson.

I am Don and Marie's caregiver. I was very sorry to hear of Rex, Marie;s brother. Marie has told me many stories about her and her brother growing up. Marie will miss him very much!

Steve, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and just want you to know I'll never forget him.He was my first baseball coach in Little League and those times were some of the best in my life.My aunt and uncle lived down the street on Caladium and I used to ride my bike by there from time to time.I'd stop and talk to him sometime.Your Mother was always so nice and I always thought she and Debbie were so beautiful!Please give them my sympathy !t's been along time but I have not forgotten!Gods Blessings,Mike
