Mary Juanita Crowell Watts, 96, of Clute returned to her Father in Heaven on November 10, 2018. She was born March 18, 1922 to John Crowell and Mary Williams Crowell in Kosse, Texas.

Juanita loved music and dancing. As a little girl she would dance with Bob Wills holding onto his coattail when he performed in Kosse, Texas.

She married Walter Ancle Watts on March 2, 1940. Juanita and Ancle moved to Velasco in 1942 with their two young children where they lived in Dow’s Camp Chemical Housing before moving to their home in Clute, Texas.

Juanita was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 63 years serving 27 of those years as Director of the Adult Department. She also enjoyed serving in Temple Baptist’s 9th Period Youth Program where she impacted countless lives. She worked for B.I.S.D. with special needs children and also was an Aid at Creekside Village Nursing Home.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter Ancle Watts, parents, three sisters, four brothers and her great granddaughter Chelsie Watts.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Walter Watts and his wife Sandra of Lake Jackson, Texas and Marjorie Watts Mustard and her husband John of Tyler, Texas. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Bob Watts and wife Jana; Jon Watts and wife Tracee; Kristen Mustard and Scott Mustard and wife Claudia Pucci, as well as four great grandchildren, Chase Watts and wife Katy; Eric Watts; Cory Watts and Marissa Watts all of whom cherish their “Nina” dearly. Juanita is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Juanita was known most for her loving spirit, kind words and her servant heart. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched throughout her life.

The family will receive loved-ones and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church located at 406 East Main Street, Clute, Texas 77531. Services will be conducted by Pastor Jeff McDonald and Reverend Cynthia Myers.

A viewing is also available at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 for those whom were unable to attend the visitation.

A celebration of Juanita’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church in 406 East Main, Clute, Texas 77531. A private family graveside service to follow.

Pallbearers will be Bob Watts, Jon Watts, Scott Mustard, Chase Watts, Eric Watts and Warren “Bud” Ivie. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cory Watts.
