Alvin Y. Bartek, 71, of Lake Jackson passed away May 28, 2019. He was born in Cartiff, Wales to Bill and Gloria Bartek. In 1972 he married the love of his life, Debbie Demland and they had two children, Jason and Jalen.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie and daughter Jalen; his sister Ellen Beth Johnson (Butch) and brothers David Bartek and Billy Bartek (Alexis); brothers in law Mike Demland (Bonnie) and Donnie Demland (Keli); Nephews include Shane Johnson, Sean Bartek (Nichole), Will Bartek (Bella), Anthony Bartek, Chase Demland (Tara) and Ryan Demland (Kristen) and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jason Bartek, his parents Bill and Gloria Bartek, his father and mother in laws Jim and Esther Demland and Evelyn Demland and special friend and step brother in law Michael Sealy.

Alvin worked at Dow Chemical Company for over 25 years and retired as a project coordinator. In addition to all his hard work and dedication to his job, he also served on various boards and spent countless hours investing in the youth through sports. Many knew him as Coach Bartek whether it was through Babe Ruth Baseball, Lake Jackson Girl's Softball or Lake Jackson Little League. He not only coached but served as president of several boards throughout the years such as President of the Babe Ruth league for over 10 years and was honored when he was inducted into the Babe Ruth Baseball Hall of Fame as well as when the Southern Brazoria County Babe Ruth Association named a baseball field after him. He served as Brazoswood Softball booster club president and was instrumental in the design and building of the Lady Bucs softball field. He was a current member of the Brazoswood baseball booster club, a member of the Lake Jackson Parks and Recreation board and served on the board for the B.I.S.D. Education Foundation for many years. Alvin was a member of New Beginnings Community Church where he taught the youth for many years and enjoyed working both Walk to Emmaus and Kairos Prison Ministry. He was a wonderful husband, father, mentor and friend. He was a role model for many and lived a life full of love and service to others. This community and world is a better place because of him and we can all rest in knowing he has been called home to his loving Savior and reunited with his son and other loved ones. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Dear Debbie, Jalen, and the rest of the Bartek family and friends,
My family
Although it may not seem like it because I have distanced myself from
everyone so long ago I have no regrets and some regrets.
One of these regrets are that My oldest brother Alvin and I couldn't seem to
Stay in touch as much as we probably could have and should have.
All of these years that has gone by, I and my family have lived a
happy and fulfilled life with God.
I believe and I know that Alvin has truly had a very happy and fulfilling and faithful
life here on our world, and I know that he will be doing just fine where he is at
now with God. He will be making a lot of heavens residents happy too.
Do I feel sad? Of course I do, should I have reached out to keep in touch
With him Or should he have reached out to me? Well it's too late for that now
I do know that I do love him and always have, and I believe that the
feeling was mutual.
My wife Alexis and I, Bill Bartek Jr. would like to send our strongest prayers
And deepest sympathy to Debbie and Jalen
Goodbye Brother, sorry I missed you, Your in Gods Good hands now
So make it count again
Show him your winning team again.
Love Billy
