On Wednesday, June 9, 2021 Kenton Eugene Horton completed his final lap in the great race of life, at age 73. Kenton was born on January 1, 1948 to Clifford and Kathleen Porter Horton. He grew up in North Missouri and graduated from Galt high school. He was previously married to Peggy Hickman with whom he shared three children and three foster children. Kenton and his father started a dozing business when he was just a teenager. Kenton was a mechanic and millwright. His hobbies included racing cars and motorcycles. He could often be found in a garage or shop tinkering. He loved to build, work on, and fix all things. In the 1980s, he built his own house. He was known as the jokester and prankster amongst family and friends. He later on in life continued these shenanigans as a Papa with his grandchildren. His other favorite past times were fishing and afternoon siestas with his feline buddy, Izzy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Christopher.

He is survived by:
His son, Timothy Horton
His daughter Kami Smith, and her husband Joe.
His Sister Peggy Hatt and her husband George.
Niece Alexis Teahan and her family.
His grandchildren Bryson Horton and Skylar Smith.
Many great friends that cannot go without mentioning: Kent, Ronnie, Wayno, Barry, Will, Jackie and their families.
Lots of cousins and other friends, as well.
Ruthie Wilkerson and her sons Ricky, Michael, and Damon. Grandson Richard Wilkerson and family.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations in Kenton's memory to the Snowdrop foundation. www.snowdropfoundation.org

(A wonderful organization that provides scholarships to pediatric cancer patients and cancer survivors. They raise awareness, funds for research, host events, and support for families with children that have cancer. This organization personally rallied around our family while Bryson was sick and have become a huge support and friends for our family)

Kenton was my second cousin. I last saw him when we were in our early teens. My sympathy to his family and friends.
