Patricia (Patsy) Pate Pennington, 79, of Brazoria, Texas passed away Sunday, February 05, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital of Houston, Texas. Patricia was born to Edward Lovington Pate Jr. and Theodocia Smith Pate on February 28, 1932.

Originally from Oakwood, Texas, Patricia married William Edward Pennington on August 30, 1947 and resided in Brazoria County for the past 60 years.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters, Winnie Pate Hosea and Charlie Pate Boley, and daughter-in-law Theresa Pennington.

She is survived by her 4 children: Eddie (Sissy) Pennington, Nita (Bob) Rudy, George Pennington and Cindy (Darrel) Burge, 19 Grandchildren: Alex Pennington, Renee Pennington, Jennifer (Marcelus) Powell, Chris Cummins, Robert (Shasteen) Pennington, Jeremy (Ilene) Pennington, Michelle (Marshall) Myers, John Wright, Thomas (Audrey) Rudy, Katherine (Kevin) Clark, Paula (Monty) Piel, Patti (Jason) Arispe, Amy (Bryan) Smith, Phillip Pennington, Alan (Latisha) Pennington, LaNelle (Nathan) Jones, Trisha (Jon) Cobb, Kelly (Brian) Angus, and Jessica (Chris) Guethle and 40 Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren and longtime friend Verbalee Baker, and also by sisters Laura Dale Warren (James), Wilma Alexander and one brother in-law, B.E. Boley.

Patricia was a loving wife to husband, Edward Pennington, a proud mother to her four children and a devoted grandmother. With a streak of stubbornness she always had a heart of gold. Family was always the most important thing in Patricia's life. Holidays were her excuse to get family together to celebrate. A couple of her favorite pastimes were playing chicken feet and Skip-Bo; there you would find her one of a kind laugh that would surely bring a smile to your face. When not spending time with family you could always find her in the garden or her sewing room. A sincere and caring woman that has literally seen the world change...the impression of her fingerprint on our hearts will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are being made by Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 N. Dixie Drive Lake Jackson, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Services will be on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00pm.
