Mildred A. Machacek, 89, of Jones Creek, Texas passed away May 20, 2011 at Angleton-Danbury Hospital. She was born November 15, 1921 in Crisp, Texas to Frank and Bessie Sosolik. Mildred came to the Brazosport area in 1946 and was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, Texas. She was also a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the KJZT.

Mildred was preceded in death by husband Charlie E. Machacek and her parents.

She is survived by two children: Charlene Hurta and husband Leroy of Angleton, Texas,

Larry Machacek and wife Gwyn of Conroe, Texas,

2 grandchildren: Tina Thomas of Strum, Texas,

Roger Thomas of Clute,

4 great grandchildren; Ryan Haagensen,

Reece Thomas,

Jesse Shirley, and

Kendall Thomas.

The family will receive friends 6pm until 8 pm Monday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with a rosary service at 7:30 pm led by Deacon Wallace.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Eduarte officiating. Interment will be at the Restwood Cemetery.

Pall Bearers will be: Danny Machacek, Charles Cowey, Joe Nino, Jimmy Mikes, Joe Merka, and Eddie Denk. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Roger Thomas, Ryan Haagensen, and Reece Thomas.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A special thanks to Country Village Care, especially Diana Seale, Joan Ingram, and the nursing staff on Rebecca Wing.
