A celebration of the life of Wanda Eldine Oglesby, age 88, of Sweeny, Texas will be held at her home. The family would be honored for you to join this Celebration Memorial Picnic Service located at 7639 FM 1459; Sweeny, Texas on Saturday, August 07, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. with Bobby Fuller presiding.

Eldine was born October 3, 1932 in Wheeler County, Texas; the first of three girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Kenney and Leslie Shinn Kenney; and her husband of 69 years 7 months, Bob Oglesby.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Oglesby and wife, Carolyn, of Pittsburg, Texas; daughter, Vicki McClellan, of Amarillo, Texas; son, Larry Oglesby and wife, Peggy, of Marshall, Texas; daughter, Karen Follett and husband, Pat, of Deer Park, Texas; sister, Doris Nash and husband, John, of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Yvonne Nunn and husband, Ross, of Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Bob and Eldine were blessed with nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one soon to be great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild and one soon-to-be great-great-grandchild.

Eldine's career was that of homemaker extraordinaire. Among her many talents were cooking for 2 or 200, custom knitting and sewing. As a member of FBCOO since 1969, she enjoyed lifelong friendships developed through years of serving as a Sunday School teacher, youth worker, pageant costume design and Baptist Women to name a few. Eldine served in the Sweeny community as a Hospital Pink Lady for over twenty years and also enjoyed being a part of Sweeny United each summer.

Cremation by Freeport-Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Remains will be interred at the Sweeny Cemetery in a private family service.
