Mable Josephine Elliott, 93, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away on Dec. 15, 2022.

Mable was born on May 24, 1929, to Julius Orlando and Daisy Williams Wilkerson in Palacios, Texas. Mable was an only child but grew up with lots of cousins. Not long after she was born her dad moved to Corpus Christi to work on planes at the Naval base.

After Mable graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1949 she worked for a few years at the Navy base until she met the love of her life.

In 1950, Mable met Kenneth Duane Elliott, Sr., from California while he was stationed at the Naval Base in Corpus Christi. Mable and Kenneth had two children, Kenneth Duane Elliott, Jr., and Bryan Lynn Elliott. In 1952, Kenneth decided being a Navy Seabee was not the best family job and he went to work for Dow Chemical, and they moved to Lake Jackson, where they both resided until their death. Mable was a homemaker.

In 1985, Kenneth retired, and they spent their time traveling, square dancing, camping with their son and grandkids and doing crafts. The two of them were often making something. Kenneth did all kinds of woodwork and Mable loved to paint, do needle point, quilt, and crochet. Mable never liked cooking, but every Wednesday night, Kenneth would cook for their kids and grandkids.

Mable was predeceased by her parents Daisy and Julius Wilkerson, her husband Kenneth Elliott, Sr., her son Bryan Elliott and many of her cousins.
Mable is survived by her son Kenneth Duane Elliott, Jr., and his wife Karen; her daughter in law Catherine Elliott and her husband Eddie Manning; and her five grandkids: Wesley Elliott and wife Jamie; Luke Elliott and wife Andie; Brad Elliott and wife Delane; Brandon Elliott and wife Christian; and Kendra Watson.
