Jane Hill Crossland
Jane Hill Crossland was born October 31, 1938 in Bosque County TX and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 4, 2025. She has lived in Brazoria County for the past 35 years and worked for the Lake Jackson Police Department as a crossing guard for 20 years.
Jane is survived by her daughters Becky McLaurin (Chuck) Marion TX, Roxanne Crossland Orlea (Jack) Richwood TX and Shelly Lister (Mike) Lake Jackson TX along with her brother Joe Hill (Viva) of Fort Worth TX and sister-in-law Carol Hill. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Amanda Caballero (Jason) Lake Jackson TX, Britteny Birdwell (Chad) Marion TX, Justin Hoffman, Lanny Klinect (Cody) Pflugerville TX, Chase Holliday, Holly Richards (Taylor) Lake Jackson TX and Haley Ross (Jason) Lake Jackson TX. She also leaves behind 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Crossland was predeceased by her husband, Grady Lee Crossland; parents George and Esther Hill; brothers Carl G. Hill and Manfred (Butch) Hill; grandson Jordan Shea Sneed in addition to several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jane loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and she gladly served him all her life. She enjoyed spending time with family and she had an infectious personality with a beautiful smile and a jovial laugh. She loved meeting people and enjoyed her job as a crossing guard which gave her the opportunity to meet so many children, parents and citizens.
She attended church at Family Life Church and Christ Community Church.
As a young wife and homemaker, Jane was active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher and she played the piano for the Sunday Services. She was a member of the Gaines County TX Young Homemakers of America and was elected State President in 1966. She was a volunteer for the March of Dimes and the Girl Scouts of America. She was named in Who's Who as an Outstanding Young Woman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
