Donald learned the carpentry trade and went on to become an esteemed home builder. He built his own home plus hundreds of others in the Brazosport area, and beyond. Donald was a force of nature and there is isn't anything he would not have done to support, cherish, and keep his family safe. He was a loving father and husband and made his family very proud. Everyone knew they could count on Donnie Crews, rain or shine. He did what he said, and expected the same from you. Many who worked for him over the years have expressed the impact he had on their lives, saying "I wouldn't be the man I am today if it were not for Donnie Crews".
He was the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan ever. His entire wardrobe consisted of Cowboys shirts, hats and even his sneakers. He proudly built an awe inspiring Cowboys game room in his home that would rival any other "Man Cave". He was an avid fisherman and competed in the annual Fishing Fiesta for many years. Later in life, he loved to play golf, mostly for the friendships and good times had at the golf course. Above all, he loved to barbecue. He made the meanest brisket in Brazoria County. He also had a passion for horse racing and playing poker.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann, his parents, Lucille Crews and father Eugene Crews. Survivors include his daughter Cynthia Crews-Beach, son -in--law Patrick Beach, granddaughter Courtney Castille, great grandson Bryce Pruski, brother Kenneth Crews, sister-in-law Elaine Crews, sisters Wanda Ivey, Barbara Khoury, Eileen Sanders and brother-in-law Doug Sanders.
Attendees are welcome to wear their favorite Dallas Cowboys attire. He would welcome that.
Funeral services will be held Sept. 5th 2025 at Lakewood Funeral Home, 98 Dixie Dr. Lake Jackson TX, 77566. Visitation begins at 10.00 a.m. Service begins at 11:00 a.m. A gathering at his home will commence after the service is concluded.

Condolences to the family. I first became acquainted with Donnie (DC) Crews at Brazoria Bend golf course. Until we closed it down and moved to Alvin Country Club, which eventually closed. To many of us he was, DC, which could be his initials or his aka Dallas Cowboy, Diehard fan to the BONE!!!!! He was Kindhearted and True. He will truly be missed by his family and the many people he befriended on and off the golf course. I'll miss you my friend and our many after golf BBQ luncheons. Rest Now!

I met Donnie in the early 90's when I was selling lumber for Simmons Building Supply. He showed me how he framed a house and that helped me later in my career. Thanks Mr Crews for all your help .
