Johnny Allen Hamlet, Sr.
March 29th, 1937 - September 1, 2025

Johnny Allen Hamlet, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on September 1st, 2025, at the age of 88, with his loving family by his side, he was born on March 29th, 1937 in Arp, Texas to Enoch and Vallie Hamlet. Johnny met the love of his life Geraldine, and they were married on February 28th, 1975. They had a wonderful life together and made many sweet memories and were inseparable. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend.

Johnny hired on with Dow Chemical in 1963, where he worked for 32 years and eventually retired as an operator in 1995. Johnny loved woodworking, fishing, camping, and taking walks. He also had a passion for game nights with the family and eating Granny's famous glazed bars that she made for him as a reward for his hard work. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed every minute spent at Harris Reservoir and riding the golf cart.
Johnny joined the masonic lodge in Clute, Texas on August 13th, 1987, where he became A
master mason and a worshipful master. He was also a member of the masonic lodge in Lake Jackson, TX. where he served as past master, and was an active member for 38 years. He was also a member of the Galveston Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Hamlet Jr. and wife Susan, Rebecca Justelien and husband Ernest, Cindy Mcdermed and husband Mark, Terry Warren, David Hamlet, Patty Browning and husband Toby. In addition to twelve grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, sister Kathleen Hamlet, and
Brother-in-law, Sam Berry. Johnny will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Berry Hamlet, his parents, Enoch and Vallie Hamlet, his brother Floyd, and wife Joyce Hamlet, and baby brother Leon Hamlet.
His daughter, Denise Kelley Hyde, and granddaughter Hope Hodges, in-laws Benny and Glen Raney, Jane Hankins, Sally McCreary, Sue Wright,
Brother-in-laws W.M. Berry Jr., Ralph Berry, Mickey Berry, and Arthur Berry.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at 10 am with funeral services following at 11 am. A private gravesite burial will be held in Lufkin, Texas at the W.M. Berry cemetery on Thursday, September 11th at 1 pm.
