Alice Faye McKelroy Turk
October 23, 1949 - October 31, 2025

Alice Faye McKelroy Turk, 76, stepped into heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Friday October 31st, 2025.

She was born to Charlie D McKelroy and Annie Catherine Cammack McKelroy in Freeport, Texas October 23, 1949. Alice grew up in Jones Creek, Texas with her siblings, Kathy, David, and Dennis. She was a graduate of Brazosport High School in 1968. She then attended Texas Women's University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She later went on to earn her Master's Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She married Andrew Robert Turk Jr. on August 21st 1971. Together they raised two children, Nicholas and Kimberly, in Lake Jackson, Texas. She taught nursing at Brazosport College for many years. Later, she moved on to Psychiatric Nursing in the Houston area.

She was blessed with four grandchildren that she cherished with all of her heart. She was often found at cheer competitions and baseball tournaments to support them.

Alice was a life-long member of Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church and a proud member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She will be remembered by her loving, giving spirit, and her devotion to family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie D. McKelroy and Catherine Cammack McKelroy Henry and her step-father Irvin S. Henry.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Andrew (A.J.) Turk; her children and their families, Nicholas Turk and wife Ashley Turk of Beaumont, TX and their son Brooks, Kimberly and husband Eddie Gonzalez of The Woodlands, TX and their children Chloe, Mia, and Lawson Gonzalez. Sister Kathy Ballow (Bill) of Henderson, TX. Brothers David McKelroy (Cindy) and C. Dennis McKelroy both of Lake Jackson. Uncle Bill Cammack (Nancy) of Silver Spring, MD. She is survived by many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held Friday November 7th at Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin at noon, funeral at 1:00 pm, followed by burial in Gulf Prairie Cemetery. Freeport-Lakewood Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
