Bobby Glen Hawkins, 84, of Freeport, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 9, 1941, to Samuel and Winnie (Ford) Hawkins.

Bob married the love of his life, Jane Broussard Hawkins, and together they built a family rooted in devotion, resilience, and faith. He was a proud father to David Hawkins (wife Mary Jeanne) and Charlotte Bell (husband David). He also cherished his honorary children: Wayne Freeman (wife Laura) and Randy and Tashia Bayes. Bob was blessed with grandchildren Melanie Hawkins, Samuel Hawkins, Tammy Bell, and Joshua Bell (wife Anaely), and great-grandchildren Wiley Thomas and Douglas Williams, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Winnie Hawkins, along with his siblings: Alta Mae Moore, Jack Hawkins, Neal Hawkins, Hershel Hawkins, Vonnie Lou Henley, and Glenda Faye Eudaley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his devoted wife Jane, his children and honorary children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Bob was a dedicated and hardworking man. He began his career at Dow Chemical, where he worked from 1961 until retiring in 1997. Even after retirement, his passion for learning and design led him into continued work in CAD and drafting for local steel shops and companies, fully retiring in 2016. His determination to adapt and excel - especially when he taught himself computer-aided design - was one of his defining traits.

A man of many interests, Bob enjoyed A/C and refrigeration repair, working with computers, and playing dominoes with the same sharp mind and dry wit he carried throughout his life. He was deeply involved in his community as a Volunteer Fireman for Freeport, President and Coach in the Peewee League, and held several patents for inventions during his time with Dow Chemical. Bob was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Freeport, where his faith remained a constant anchor.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his intelligence, his resourcefulness, his quiet strength, and his unmistakable sharp dry wit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church Freeport. The family will begin receiving friends and loved ones at 12:00 PM to share memories and fellowship.

Bob's legacy of hard work, devotion, and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
