Memorial services for Jo Ann Sebring, 89, of Angleton, TX, will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Life Foursquare Church with Sonny Bowman officiating. A reception will follow. Internment will be held at a later date to be determined, with her family in attendance.

Jo Ann was born to William and Ruth Sebring in Houston, TX, on September 20, 1936, and was the oldest of three children: her sister, Billie (deceased), and her brother, Jack (and wife Barbara) of Sealy, Texas. Jo Ann loved the outdoors as a child and often joked about looking like a wild child. She had an affinity for the woods and the beach, which remained with her until her old age. She frequently asked when our next vacation was and what beach house or cabin in the woods we would rent for it.

In 1955, Jo married her first husband, Clifford Walton Bickham of Van Vleck, and together they had three children: Connie Jean Bickham (deceased), Clifford Wayne Bickham (deceased), and Randy Alan Bickham (wife Dayna) of Angleton, Texas. In the early 1970s, she became an LVN and began a lifelong career caring for others as a nurse. After divorcing, she moved to Houston, then California, and even to Hawaii to pursue her career. Jo Ann loved adventure, and her audacious stories often had her family and friends laughing in awe.

In 1988, she and Randy moved back to Texas from California for a stint in East Texas before she returned to the Gulf Coast to be closer to her grandbabies: Ross Pickens (deceased), Jodi Bickham, and spouse Scott Swann Jr. of Alvin, TX, Debra Barnes and her husband Alex of Pearland, TX, Chrystopher Bickham and wife Stasey of Alvin, TX, Taylor Bickham of Brazoria, Lauren Villoutreix and husband Charles of Brazoria (and their 3 children), Toni Bickham of Brazoria, Sarah VanEpps of Angleton, TX, and Connie-Lyn Gajewsky and her husband Chase of Lake Jackson, TX. Her great-grandchildren are Jadin Bickham, Jordin Bean, Jace Bickham, Tailar Malek, Chance Bickham, Emmaleigh Bickham, Kylon Sweeny, Jackson Barnes, and Andrew VanEpps. She has one great-great-granddaughter, Lakelyn Bickham, and another due any day. She was known as Aunt Jodi to many nieces and nephews.

Just as important as her biological family, Jo Ann valued her church family. Jo was a member of Life Foursquare Church in Angleton, TX, since 2009, and often remarked that she did not know how people navigated life without a church family to rely on. Ladies' Bible Study and her group of ladies who met at McDonald's for coffee were some of her favorites. She served for many years as a door greeter, warmly welcoming members and visitors alike, and she served on the prayer team. Of all of these things, serving as a prayer team member was one of the ''biggest honors'' of her life. She was always honored to pray for and with those she loved.

Jo Ann realized in 2017 that her memory was not as good as it used to be. Jo went through one-on-one lifestyle coaching and attended Brain Camp with The Gathering Place in Angleton, TX. In 2022, she was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. The resources and team at The Gathering Place helped her and her family learn how to slow the progression of memory loss. The early intervention, lifestyle changes, education, and awareness helped Jo and her family prepare for the last eight years of her life, making them as full as they could be for her and her family.

Flowers can be sent to Life Foursquare, and should be delivered Saturday, January 3, between 11 AM and 1 PM at 501 Karankawa, Angleton, TX. Final arrangements by the Turner Family at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, (979) 297-6464.
