Bob Lycka died peacefully in his recliner at home on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was born in La Grange, Texas, on March 22, 1941 to Adella Krenek and Robert E. Lycka. He grew up in Angleton, Texas with his bothers, CJ and Tom, and his sister Jennie.
Bob and Nelda Lycka were married for 38 years and made their home in Jones Creek, Texas. Bob worked for 30 years at Dow Chemical before retiring. He ran the Surplus Material Yard for Dow. His children were Kent, Tim and Lisa from a previous marriage. His step-daughter, Lorin was raised by him from the age of 4.
Bob always had cows on many leases in Angleton, Brazoria, and Jones Creek. For many years he ran his cattle operation from his barn on Phillips Road in Angleton.
He and Nelda attended the Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Hunter Janek, and his son-in-law, Carl Stoddard. He is survived by his children. Kent and Gina Lycka of Boerne, Texas. Tim and Kelly Lycka of Richmond, Texas. Lisa Stoddard of Pearland. Lorin and Larry Phillips of Lucedale, Mississippi. Bob is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 98 Dixie Drive, Clute, TX. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Service will begin at 12:00. Pallbearers will be Clyde Crawford, Turner Currier, Larry Phillips, Travis Price, Ryan Janek, and Gary Brandon.
Burial to follow at The Matagorda Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Matagorda, Texas at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at his request next to his grandson Hunter.
Bob gave his heart to Christ in 1998 and spoke of his salvation at church. He loved being outdoors and spent as much time in the woods as possible. If there are woods in Heaven, that's where you will find him, watching the deer.

Hi Nelda. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sounds like Bob really enjoyed his critters, and God will definitely find him something that needs taking care of. Blessings to you and your family as you help Bob on his journey.

Dad you will be truly missed. From visiting with you, to listening about your cows and hunting. My life will be truly different without you. As the years pass? there will be an emptiness inside me. I will missyou every day.
Love your son,
Tim
