She was born in Temple, Bell County, Texas on October 22, 1922 to Dedie George ''Son'' Evans and Emma Lee ''Lee'' McRoy Evans. They lived on the family farm in Heidenheimer, Bell County, Texas, until her father took a job with the Freeport Sulfur Company and moved the family to Freeport, Texas, when she was 4 years old. After WWII, she met Robert F ''Bob'' Jordan at the Railroad Station. They married on December 23, 1947. When introducing each other to their parents, her parents were concerned that he was too young for her, thinking he was a teenager and his mother thought the same about her!

The year they married they equally invested in their real estate venture ABC Realty Company, now known as ABC Realty, L.L.P. After retiring from the Railroad Company, she began working full-time for ABC Realty, until her retirement in 2020 at the young age of 98. Her Real Estate Broker's License was active at the time of her death.
