Connie Paiz, 78, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home on Sunday, March 25, 2012. She was born November 8, 1933 in Boling, Texas to Juan and Rosa Salazar. Connie was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rosemary Cancino; son, Bilsen Paiz; two brothers, Joe and Juan Salazar; and one sister, Anita Mendoza.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Manuel Paiz, of Lake Jackson; two children, Lalo Paiz and wife, Margaret, of Lake Jackson, Martin Paiz and wife, Melissa, of Richwood; 10 grandchildren, Eudelia (Dee) Paiz, Christie Salinas (Juan), Larry Paiz, Joshua Paiz, Jessyca Paiz and Martin Paiz, Jr, Roland Cancino, Jr., Kristen Cancino, Zachry Cancino seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jessie Salazar, of Clute, Manuel Salazar and wife, Diane, of Old Ocean; Gilbert Salazar and Elvia, of Sweeny; one sister, Leona Mendoza, of Brazoria; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Clute with Father Jim Lynes officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Paiz, Joshua Paiz, Zachary Cancino, Roland Cancino, Jr., Juan Salinas, Raymond Mendoza and Dustan Montoya.

Connie was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother who will be greatly missed and remembered as always willing to give a helping hand to others.
