Rebecca Ann Goodbread, of Jones Creek, Texas, was born on the 17th day of November 1940, in Linden, Texas. She passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the age of 72.

Becky, as she was so well known, was a wonderful nurse. She started at Sparks School of Nursing in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She met the love of her life, Larry W. Goodbread Sr. at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas. She postponed her nursing career briefly when she was married and started her family. She completed her school at Alvin Junior College where she attained her Registered Nursing degree. She worked at Community Hospital in Freeport, Dow Industrial Medicine and after a brief time off while she raised her two children, she found her true calling as a school nurse. She worked at Jane Long Elementary School and

O. A. Fleming Elementary school in Freeport, and, as she told every one, she was the first school nurse at the Alternative Placement Center in Clute until the time of her retirement. One of her favorite memories of the Alternative School was her "babies" always telling her, "Mrs. G, we got your back." She loved being a school nurse.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lela Bentz and her husband, Larry W. Goodbread Sr.

She is survived by her children, Larry W. Goodbread Jr., Donna Moore, Kathy Goodbread Johnson; and her brother, Paul D. Bentz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Khristin New, Jessica Rollo, Melissa Moore, Janna Rollo, Jillian Goodbread, Darby Johnson and Ashtyn James; and her two four legged babies, Lola and Brother.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. H. O. Bilderback and the Rev. John A. Marlar officiating.

Arrangements by the Turner Family.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people from Helping Hands and Hearts Hospice. Sherwin, Agnes and Sharon were a gift from God in our Mother's time of need.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Shrine Burns Hospital in Galveston.

In good times, enjoy fully.

But in all times, be grateful."
